As National Adviser to the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN) in Trinidad and Tobago, Nikki contributes strategic guidance to youth-led environmental and sustainable-development initiatives.

Her work supports programme development, partnership-building, organisational strengthening and opportunities for young people to engage more meaningfully in climate action, environmental advocacy and sustainable development.

Nikki coordinates the planning and implementation of the TSS Youth Mentorship Programme, supporting structured mentorship, student development and leadership-building opportunities for young people.

Nikki serves on the Operationalisation Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Parliamentary Network, contributing to the structures, systems and processes required to support the network’s effective functioning.

Rather than treating youth participation as a symbolic exercise, Nikki’s work in this space supports the creation of structures through which young people can engage more meaningfully with leadership, democratic participation and national development.

As part of the Thought For Food Caribbean leadership team, Nikki supported regional partnership development, ambassador engagement and ecosystem-building around sustainable food systems, youth innovation and entrepreneurship.

She assisted ambassadors in identifying and engaging prospective partners, supported outreach and relationship-building, and contributed to regional collaboration aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The experience strengthened Nikki’s exposure to regional partnership management, youth-led innovation and Caribbean enterprise ecosystems.

The University of the West Indies Open Campus | Jul 2020 – May 2021

Nikki contributed to the development and structuring of regional student representation across The University of the West Indies Open Campus.

Her work supported chapter development, organisational planning and coordination across a geographically dispersed university community.

The experience provided early exposure to the complexities of building and coordinating regional structures across multiple Caribbean territories.

Nikki has maintained a longstanding commitment to the advancement of women and girls, contributing to advocacy, public education, research, documentation and strategic communications connected to gender equality.

Through her leadership in communications and research, she has supported the development of advocacy content and public-facing initiatives aligned with the principles of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
